The dictionary for Atalanta Heroina contains the dictionary entry for all the Latin words used in the novella. If you would like a preview of the novella, you can read the first chapter of the story here. You can review more detailed information about the novella here.
Unlike the Index Verborum, which contains each unique word forms in the novella, the dictionary for Atalanta Heroina provides the full dictionary entry for the word. In addition to providing the dictionary entry and definition, the frequency in which the word generally appears in Latin literature is provided. The Dickinson Core Vocabulary and Essential Latin Vocabulary were used in creating the frequency rating.
When a number appears, the Dickinson Core Vocabulary, which is a list of 1000 words, was used. The abbreviation ELV indicates when a word did not appear in the Dickinson list but appears on the list in Essential Latin Vocabulary. Essential Latin Vocabulary’s list is 1,425 words, so presumably the word appears in approximately the last 425 words. A blank indicates that the word infrequently occurs in Latin literature.
Words in bold are glossed vocabulary words. I consider the words in italics to be cognates that I used infrequently in the novella.
